Sports Society

The outdoor sports facilities include a cricket ground, football ground, four basketball grounds, five badminton courts and four volleyball grounds. There is a large open space for field and track sports that enables student-athletes to make full use of it to excel in field and track events. There is nearly every sport for every student, irrespective of whether a student wishes to enhance his/her sports skills or takes it as a stress buster to seek a joy or fitness.

Indoor facilities include a large sized, fully air-conditioned gymnasium with most modern equipment. This facility is extensively used by the students. In addition, there are a number of indoor sports like, Squash, Badminton, Table Tennis, Martial Art, Carom and Chess etc. quite favourite among students. Yoga facility is guided by an expert trained yoga teacher for the students, faculty and staff.

Sports facilities are headed by a qualified physical educationist, Sports officers and coaches have been appointed to take charge of day-to-day games and sports activities. For students who excel in their respective sports at the State and National level, a trainer/coach is organized by the university. A sports calendar is prepared at the beginning of an academic year, ensuring that it doesn’t overlap with the students’ examination and other important events. Sports competitions are accordingly held as per the calendar.

Sharda University college teams take part in intra college and inter-college/universities competitions. Sharda University teams have been participating in AIU (Association of Indian University) Championships. A grand Annual Sports Fest of the University is held annually, where teams of various colleges of neighbouring States participate in increasing numbers, year on year.

1. The Sharda University hosted the 3^rd International Qwan Ki Do Training Seminar, where Two Romania Maters lead the Training session 2025.
2. The University hosted Basketball exhibition matches for International Students-2025
3. The University hosted State tournaments of Taekwondo and Qwan Ki Do 2024-2025
4. The Sharda University hosted Nepalese Sports fest from past many years.
5. The University hosted Soccer Sans Frontiers - Football tournaments for International Students.2023-2024
6. The Sharda University hosted friendly Cricket matches for industries 2024-25 
7. The University hosted the 21st Senior National Women Football Championship in the year 2015 once again in the year 2018 hosted the 72nd Sr. National Men’s Football Championship North Zone
8. The University hosted the Sharda Inter State Invitational Basketball and Football Tournament 2021-22.  
9. The Sharda University successfully organised CATALYST Medical Sports Fest 2024, 2023 which was exclusively for the Medical Sciences students.
