Uttar Pradesh Post-Matric Scholarship Scheme (Other Than Intermediate)

The Uttar Pradesh Post-Matric Scholarship scheme provides financial assistance to students from SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and General categories pursuing graduation, postgraduate studies, PhDs, or higher degrees. Eligibility is determined based on income and other criteria.

UP Scholarship Categories

Post-Matric Other Than Inter: For UG/PG or higher degree students

Eligibility Criteria

  • Category: SC, ST, OBC, Minority, and General
  • Level of Study: Graduation, postgraduate studies, PhD, or higher degrees in a recognized institution
  • Income Limits:
    • OBC, Minority & General Category: Annual household income should not exceed ₹2,00,000.
    • SC/ST Category: Annual household income should not exceed ₹2,50,000.
  • Domicile: Must be a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must be an Indian citizen.
    • Must not be receiving benefits from any other state/central scholarship.
    • Must have scored at least 60% marks in 10+2 for UG courses.
    • Must have scored at least 55% marks in graduation for PG/higher degree courses.
    • Must have scored at least 50% marks in all previous years of the course to be eligible for scholarship renewal.
    • Must maintain a minimum of 75% attendance.
    • Must possess the following documents:
      • Valid Income Certificate of parents (Issued by Tehsildar)
      • Valid Caste Certificate of student (Issued by Tehsildar, if applicable)
      • Domicile Certificate of student (Issued by Tehsildar)
      • Student’s Aadhaar Card linked to a bank account and mobile number (for OTP verification)
      • Student’s Aadhaar-based biometric authentication is required for all eligible students.

Steps to Apply for UP Scholarship

Step 1: Online Registration

  1. Visit the official website: https://www.scholarship.up.gov.in
  2. Click on the ‘Student’ link under the ‘Menu’ section.
  3. Choose the relevant scholarship category and fill in the required details.
  4. Create a password and submit the registration form.
  5. Note down your application number displayed on the screen for future reference.

Step 2: Scholarship Portal Login

  1. Return to the homepage and open the Login portal.
  2. Select the scholarship type (Fresh or Renewal) and click on the Post-Matric Other Than Inter login link.
  3. Enter your registration number, date of birth, and password.
  4. Complete the CAPTCHA and submit.

Step 3: Document Verification via DigiLocker

  • Verify your academic and personal documents through DigiLocker for authenticity.

Step 4: Fill Out the Scholarship Application Form

  1. Enter all required details, including:
    • Educational qualifications
    • Personal information
    • Bank account details
    • Current school/college fee structure
    • Previous year’s academic details
  2. Click ‘Update’ to save the form.

Step 5: Upload Photograph

  1. Log out and log in again to upload your passport-size photograph.
  2. After uploading, print the saved application form for your records.

Step 6: Modify the Application Form (If Needed)

  • Edit and correct any errors in your application before final submission.

Step 7: Enter Certification Details

  • Enter valid Parent’s Income and Student’s Caste Certificate information as required.

Step 8: Aadhaar Authentication

  • Enter your Aadhaar number for identity verification and linking with bank account.

Step 9: NPCI Verification

  • Click the ‘NPCI Verification’ link to validate your Aadhaar-linked bank account for payments.

Step 10: High School Roll Number Authentication

  • Verify your high school roll number to confirm academic history.

Step 11: Print Application for Verification (Provisionally)

  • Double-check all entries.
  • Make necessary updates and print the provisional application form for review.

Step 12: Final Submission of Application Form

  • After verifying all details, submit the form online.

Step 13: Print the application to submit in the DSW office

  • Wait for 3 days, then print the final application form (If available for download) and submit it in the DSW office for further processing.

  2. Signature & stamp of the competent authority on the application form.
  3. CGPA & attendance details verified by the concerned school Dean/HOD.
  4. Copies of:
    • Income, domicile, and caste certificates (Caste certificate not required for General & Minority Category)
    • Verification of Income, domicile, and caste certificates from e-district website.
    • Last examination mark sheet (attested by the concerned authority)
    • 10th & 12th mark sheets
    • Graduation Marksheet (For PG Scholarship)
    • Hostel ID card (if applicable)

  5. Self-attested copies of all documents.
  6. Scanned copy of the final printout with supporting documents in a single PDF file and two hard copies.

Checking UP Scholarship Status

Applicants can track their application status via the UP Scholarship portal.

Steps to Check Status:

  1. Visit the official UP Scholarship website.
  2. Click on the status-check link.
  3. Enter your Application ID and Date of Birth.
  4. The system will display the application status.

Scholarship Renewal Process

Renewal applicants must follow the same steps as new applicants, including:

  1. Visiting the homepage and selecting the renewal login link.
  2. Updating academic details in the application form.
  3. Printing the completed form.
  4. Submitting the application form to the school/university.
