Periodontology

The department deals with prevention, diagnosis & treatment of diseases related to gums and structures around teeth. Here patients are being treated for bleeding gums, bad breath, mobile teeth, receding gums, swollen or enlarged gums, periodontal abscess, periodontitis etc. The Department offers routine procedures for the prevention and treatment of various periodontal diseases and specialized procedures such as Dental Implants

Oral Medicine & Radiology

Oral Medicine is that branch of dental science which deals with the study of oral and maxillofacial diseases, oral manifestations of systemic diseases, their diagnosis by modern scientific diagnostic methods and their medical management. This branch sits at the interface between dentistry and medicine with the objective of providing total health of an individual.

Oral & Maxillofacial Pathology and Oral Microbiology

Working in the field of Oral Pathology & Microbiology is very exciting as we deal with few of the most challenging diseases faced by mankind. Today Oral Cancer has taken its toll on people around the globe & is the third most common cause of death due to Cancer among Indian population.

Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics

The Department boasts of state of the art treatment facilities. Currently, it is running an undergraduate and a post-graduate program. Each program are trained by means of lectures with ICT, demonstrations, tutorials, preclinical, laboratory, and clinical work. The training program is supervised by eminent faculty. The students are encouraged to attend continuing dental education programs/ workshops/ summits/ conferences etc. .

Prosthodontics and Crown Bridge

Prosthodontics is that branch of Dentistry pertaining to the restoration & maintenance of oral function, comfort, appearance & health of the patient by the restoration of natural teeth and or replacement of missing teeth & craniofacial tissue with artificial substitutes.

Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry

Pediatric and Preventive Dentistry is an age-defined specialty that provides primary and comprehensive, Preventive, and Therapeutic oral health care for infants and children through adolescence, including those with special health care needs.

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is that branch of Dentistry that deals with diagnosis, surgical and adjunctive treatment of diseases, injuries and, defects of human jaws, oral cavity and associated structures.

Public Health Dentistry

The department of Public Health Dentistry at School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University, Greater Noida was established in the year 2006 to provide affordable and accessible oral health care to people of Greater Noida & neighboring districts since its inception. It is committed to train and calibrate the undergraduate students in Public Health Dentistry by providing dental health education, screening and treatment camps on oral diseases for the outreach population tailored specifically on the basis of research on needs of the community.

Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics

Department of Conservative Dentistry & Endodontics in School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University is being run by a team of highly qualified and dedicated staff. Department of Conservative & Endodontics is located on 2nd floor in college, absorbing around forty six State of Art Dental Chairs for accommodating number of patients, in separate Under Graduate & Post Graduate clinical section. In separate Pre-Clinical Section, a Phantom head lab is provided to mimic real time patient care experience in lab setting. This provides necessary feel to the students before they enter into clinical section.

The School of Dental Sciences is a leading institution in the field of dental education in India. The institute has 9 clinical departments, each with an Undergraduate and Postgraduate section, as well as a Tobacco Cessation Centre, TMJ & Orofacial Pain Clinic, Dental Implant Clinic, and 3 Satellite Clinics.
The college provides excellent laboratory facilities for teaching and training students, including a phantom head lab with 100 dental workstations for pre-clinical training. The college is also well equipped with a Ceramic Lab for crown and bridge fabrication to gain technical skills in dentistry.
It also offers Modern Day Diagnostic & Clinical Procedures such as CBCT, Biopsy & Cytology, Maxillofacial Trauma & Disorders, Orthognathic Surgeries, Aesthetic Dentistry, Endodontic Microscopic Root Canal Treatment, LASERS, Electrocautery, Reconstructive & Periodontal Plastic Surgeries, Growth Factors – PRP, PRF, Orthodontic Treatment and Paediatric Dentistry.
The college features 5 ICT-enabled Lecture Halls and 9 Seminar Rooms, all equipped with free Wi-Fi (with a bandwidth of 2.2Gbps) and Interactive SMART Board facilities.
The college also prides itself on having a sophisticated library set-up with good ventilation and illumination - a perfect setting for avid readers. The library is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of online databases (EBSCOHOST), Remote access facilities, CCTV Surveillance, books, journals (National and international), back volumes of journals, theses, WHO publications, etc. It`s a one-stop resource center for the student from all forms references to printouts and to the binding.

STUDENTS RESEARCH

Students of School of Dental Sciences, Sharda University are offered and encouraged to participate in various academic platforms to broaden their knowledge. Such platforms are given both at National and International level via presentations in form of poster and paper to boost their confidence and public speaking skills. Students are also motivated to carry out research in their field of interest. University encourages and offers incentives to students to promote their involvement in research activities. Many undergraduate and post graduate students are also encouraged to take fundings for their research proposals for which university gives resources and support
