World Sanskrit Day (29 August) and the International Day of Literacy (8 September)

The Felicitation Ceremony organised by the Sharda School of Law, Sharda University on 9 September , 2026 brought together the themes of culture, literacy, law, creativity and technology in a celebration of student talent and achievement. The event commemorated World Sanskrit Day (29 August) and the International Day of Literacy (8 September), while also recognising students who participated and excelled in various competitions. The celebration highlighted the enduring relevance of Sanskrit as a repository of Indias intellectual and cultural heritage. Its connection with legal education was particularly emphasised through concepts such as Dharma, Nyaya, justice, duties and governance, demonstrating how traditional knowledge continues to offer valuable perspectives for contemporary legal thought. The event also celebrated the significance of literacy as a means of understanding, learning, communicating and making informed decisions. Anshu Kumari, Aditi Kumari, Kavya Pandey, Samridhi, Shreya Sharma, students of 2nd year enthusiastically participated in the World Sanskrit Day competition. The winners of “VISUALIZING JURISPRUDENCE” The 120-Second Multimedia Challenge were - Mr. Manjeet Kumar (4th year ) - first prize, Ms. Nishtha and Manasvi (2nd) - second prize, Ms. Wasila (4th year) - third prize, Dev and Nandika (2nd year) - fourth prize and Jagruti (4th year) fifth prize. They showcased jurisprudence concepts through AI made 120 seconds videos.
