From Language to Justice

14 Sep 2026

Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, celebrated Hindi Diwas by organising a Hindi Recitation Competition on Legal Themes under the broader theme “From Language to Justice.” The competition aimed to provide students with a platform to express their views on legal, constitutional and contemporary social issues through the Hindi language and to encourage effective communication of legal ideas beyond traditional linguistic boundaries. The event celebrated the amalgamation of Law and Hindi under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Rhishikesh Dave, Dean, Sharda School of Law, and Prof. (Dr.) Tarkesh Molia. It provided students with an opportunity to articulate their thoughts, arguments and perspectives in Hindi while demonstrating their legal understanding, clarity of expression and oratory skills. The competition was adjudged by Dr. Vartika Saxena and Dr. Sanchita Ray, who evaluated the participants on various parameters including their understanding of the subject, quality of arguments, language, clarity, presentation and overall effectiveness of communication. The winners of the competition were First Position – Mr. Pratham Punetha, BBA LL.B., 4th Year , Second Position – Ms. Ananya Modi, BBA LL.B., 2nd Year , Third Position – Mr. Manjeet Kumar, B.A. LL.B., 4th Year , Fourth Position – Mr. Saksham Srivastava, B.A. LL.B., 5th Year and Fifth Position – Ms. Jagruti Yadav, B.A. LL.B., 4th Year . The event thus served as a meaningful celebration of Hindi as a language of legal thought, expression and social transformation, while encouraging future legal professionals to communicate with greater confidence, and purpose.
