Visit to “India Design (ID) & Dastkar”

Sharda School of Design, Sharda University, organized an educational visit to India Design (ID) 2026 and Dastkar. The visit aimed to expose students to contemporary design practices alongside Indias rich craft traditions, offering a comprehensive learning experience beyond the classroom.

At India Design (ID) 2026, one of Indias premier contemporary design exhibitions, students explored cutting-edge furniture, interior products, materials, lighting, and spatial installations presented by leading national and international designers and brands. The exhibition provided insights into current design trends, innovation, craftsmanship, and market-driven design solutions within a professional exhibition environment.

The visit also included Dastkar, a renowned platform dedicated to promoting traditional Indian crafts and artisans. Students observed a wide range of indigenous textiles, handicrafts, and handcrafted products directly presented by artisan communities from across the country. They engaged with live craft demonstrations, learned about traditional techniques and material narratives, and gained an understanding of the cultural and social contexts behind handmade products. The visit served as an immersive learning experience, connecting contemporary design education with Indias craft heritage, sustainability practices, and cultural identity.
