UP Tourism Department organized a Live concert of K-pop star “Aoora” at Sharda University

Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department organized K-pop concert on 12 September, 2023, at Sharda University to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and South Korea. The campus of Sharda University was chosen because of its diversified student base from over 95 countries. CEOs and senior officials from 25 South Korean companies also thoroughly enjoyed the concert.

During the event, PK Gupta – Chancellor, Sharda University; YK Gupta – Pro-Chancellor, Sharda University; Mr. Prashant Gupta – CEO, Sharda University; Mr. Rishabh Gupta - Vice President Sharda University; Dr. Sibaram Khara - Vice Chancellor, Sharda University; and Prof.(Dr.) Parma Nand - Pro Vice Chancellor, Sharda University, were present along with HoDs and faculty members of different departments.

Park Min-joon, aka Aoora, a well-known South Korean K-pop performer, as well as music producer and DJ Friday, are very popular across the globe and have millions of followers on different social media platforms.  Students were blown away by Aoora and Friday's live concert, and compelled to dance with the artists performance on various music numbers including the Bollywood classic Jimmy Jimmy Aaja Aaja. Following that, fusion was performed on the songs Phir Naachenge Saari Raat and Yeh Shaam Mastani Madhosh Kiye Jaaye.

Shri PK Gupta and Shri YK Gupta said that the event was aimed to promote cultural exchange and understanding between India and South Korea. It offers a chance to overcome cultural differences and celebrate how music is a universal language that unites people from all walks of life. Jaiveer Singh, the tourism and culture minister for the state of Uttar Pradesh, commended Sharda University's administration for this initiative in a video message. According to him, as part of the Cultural Exchange Program, artists from Uttar Pradesh are showcasing a bit of their culture in Korea and artists from Korea are showcasing their culture in Uttar Pradesh.
