Intra-University MUN 2025: Sharda Students Engage in Global Diplomacy
07 Nov 2025
The Department of Political Science, under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Anviti Gupta, Dean, Sharda School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SSHSS), organised the Intra-University Model United Nations (MUN) 2025 on 7th and 8th November. It comprised three committees, i.e., the UN General Assembly, which deliberated on sanctions, trade wars, and protectionism; the UN Security Council, which addressed protection of civilians in armed conflicts; and the UN Human Rights Council, which discussed the impact of climate change on human rights. It offered students the opportunity to step into the roles of global leaders and diplomats, represent diverse nations, and engage in thoughtful deliberations on pressing international issues. Through debating, drafting resolutions, and negotiating with allies and adversaries, students experienced diplomacy firsthand. This initiative embodied the spirit of experiential learning, fostering critical thinking, collaboration, and global awareness.
