Russian News Agency signed MOU with Dept. of Mass Communication on 17th July 2020

School of Media, Film and Entertainment, Sharda University signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sputnik News Agency on the morning of 17/07/2020. This was first of its kind online event where the agreement was signed by Ms. Olga Dycheva, Head of Sputnik hub (India); and Dr. Ritu. S. Sood, Dean, School of Media Film and Entertainment Sharda University in presence of Vice Chancellor of Sharda University - Prof. (Dr.) Shibaram Khara, HoD of Dept. of Mass Communication - Sharda University - Dr. Amit Chawla and over 40 other participants including faculty and students of SMFE. 

Prof. Shibaram Khara during his inaugural address, congratulated both Sputnik and SMFE teams on signing this MOU. He shared that Sharda has always been on the forefront of multicultural education education and aspires to continue its mission with this MoU. Prof. Dr. Ritu Sood said that this is the first of its kind MoU with a vision to provide extra ordinary experience to the students and faculty to share knowledge and experiences with international colleagues. Dr. Amit Chawla (HoD of Mass Communication Department said  that this MOU will bring more multiculturalism to journalism and develop international media communications.

The event was followed by the workshop on the topic Russian perspective on international communications: uniting diverse experience by the speaker Mr. Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation, speaker for the workshop. Mr. Pushkov has discussed the main trends of the media world today and about the “trendsetters”, significance of international cooperation in the media sphere nowadays. The fake news phenomenon as well as the future of news after the pandemic. It was the interactive session followed by questions and answers.
