One-day Hands-On Workshop: Broken Tile Mural Workshop

Sharda School of Design, Sharda University, successfully conducted a one-day hands-on workshop titled “Broken Tile Mural Workshop” in association with Somany Group. The workshop focused on transforming waste and broken ceramic tiles into a large-scale artistic mural based on the theme “Unity in Diversity.” The event provided students with an opportunity to explore sustainable design practices by creatively reusing discarded materials. Through guided sessions and collaborative activities, participants experimented with mosaic art techniques and worked collectively to develop a visually compelling mural.

The workshop fostered creativity, innovation, and teamwork while emphasizing the importance of sustainability in design. Students gained practical exposure to material handling, tile cutting and placement, composition development, and color harmony. The hands-on learning experience also encouraged collaborative art-making and demonstrated how industrial materials can be integrated into academic design practices to create meaningful public art installations.
