Colours of Faith: A Celebration of Indias Religious and Cultural Diversity

The Juvenile Justice Wing of the Legal Aid Society, Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, successfully organised “Colours of Faith: A Celebration of Indias Religious and Cultural Diversity” at the Government Child Care Institution Gautam Buddha Nagar, for the girls residing therein. Organised against the backdrop of Eid Milad-un-Nabi, Onam, Raksha Bandhan, Janmashtami, and Ganesh Chaturthi, the programme introduced the participants to the significance, traditions, and values associated with these festivals. Through interactive discussions, the juveniles explored how India's diverse religious and cultural practices contribute to a shared sense of belonging, mutual respect, and social harmony. A creative craft activity formed an integral part of the programme, providing the juveniles with an opportunity to express their imagination, creativity, and understanding of India's diverse cultural traditions. Through their craftwork, the participants enthusiastically showcased their artistic abilities, making the celebration interactive, expressive, and meaningful. The session highlighted the constitutional and societal significance of “Unity in Diversity”, encouraging participants to appreciate India's pluralistic heritage and the values of fraternity, inclusiveness, empathy, and peaceful coexistence. The initiative connected cultural awareness with social responsibility and the broader objectives of juvenile care and rehabilitation. The programme was organised under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Rhishikesh Dave, Dean, and Prof. (Dr.) Tarkesh Molia, Head of Department, Sharda School of Law, Sharda University. The programme was coordinated by Dr. Vaishali Arora and Dr. Manvendra Singh, Associate Professors, Sharda School of Law. The initiative was supported by student volunteers Yukta Choudhary, Harshita Karmiyal, Arti Sharma, Misba Ansari, Shagun Singh, Tanya Baghel, and Pooja Rani, whose active involvement contributed to making the programme engaging and meaningful for the participants.
