We, The People: Balancing our Rights with our Duties for A Just Society

26 Nov 2025

The 76th Constitution Day was celebrated at the Sharda School of Law, Sharda University, with reflections that went beyond ceremony. The central idea of the day was simple yet powerful: as our nation grows, the Constitution must grow with it, evolving with society, strengthening justice, and deepening the balance between rights and responsibilities.

In a time when we often speak about claiming rights, today's conversation encouraged us to pause and ask an equally important question: How much are we contributing as individuals and as communities? This shift from demanding to participating formed the heart of the discussion.

One of the most meaningful moments was when everyone came together to take a pledge to uphold the spirit of the Constitution, protect its values, and work towards a just and inclusive society. The energy in the room truly brought alive the idea of "We, the People."

The celebration saw enthusiastic participation from students across the School of Law, NSS, and the Dental School. A lively quiz competition added vibrancy to the event, showcasing the students' understanding and appreciation of India's constitutional heritage.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Prof (Dr.) Rhishikesh Dave (Dean, Sharda School of Law), Prof. (Dr.) Pramod Kumar Sharma (Dean, Student Welfare) and Dr Santhi Narayanan (NSS Coordinator) for their guidance and support throughout the event. A special acknowledgement to the event leadership: Convener - Dr Tarkesh Molia, Co-Conveners - Dr Insha Qayoom and Ms Khushbu Maheshwari, whose efforts ensured the success of this celebration. A heartfelt thank you to all faculty members, student coordinators, and participants for making the day truly meaningful.
