About the Programme

M. Tech (ME) Machine Design is a two-year post-graduate programme that focuses on the concepts and processes involved in the designing & manufacturing of machines and machine related items. The considerations, procedures and principles of machine design are introduced to the students along with statistical concepts, engineering materials and their mechanical properties.

The programme facilitates the study of various materials required for the design of mechanical elements. In addition, it aims to endow knowledge of the behaviour of materials and systems in both elastic and plastic ranges, failure modes and mechanisms in both static and dynamic conditions. Besides classroom learning, students also get opportunities to be involved in projects that enhance their practical knowledge of the subject and prepare them for the industry-environment.

Eligibility Criteria
For National Students
  • B.Tech./B.E/ B.Sc.(Engg.) in Mechanical Automobile Electronics Electrical Metallurgy Materials Technology & Civil Engg. with minimum 60% marks.
  • GATE/NET Qualified students shall be preferred.
For International Students The eligibility criterion for all programs for international applicants is minimum 50% in the qualifying examination and having studied the pre-requisite subjects for admission in to the desired program.
