Library

Synonymous with the abode of knowledge, the seven libraries for thirteen schools at Sharda Universities are stocked with the lakhs of books and thousands of journals to propel the wisdom growth of the students. These libraries are frequently updated with new books and other useful study material for students from diverse streams.

In our quest to make the library management immensely convenient for the users, Sharda University Library provides vital support complementing academic activities to students, researchers and staff. We arrange access to the world of information - whether online, multimedia or in print. In order to effectively capitalize on the opportunities provided by radical changes to technology, pedagogy and research practice, the libraries operate in a number of profound ways and work in partnership with faculty members to enhance students' research skill development, encompassing both information literacy and learning skills. The libraries now do provide effective research and learning environments with a user-focused approach which is the hallmark of SU library.

At present, the libraries of thirteen schools are located at seven places.

  • These libraries have a collection of over 1.3 lac books with ~20000 titles, 242 subscribed print journals, magazines, and newspapers.
  • More than 5200 full-text journals in subscribed e-resources and 5000 open access journals are available in our on-line database.
  • The non-book materials collection includes CDs and other electronic devices.

However, a state-of-art Wi-Fi enabled central library is presently under completion, which will bring the existing libraries under one roof, with additional features such as Turnstiles Gate Systems for ID checking for the entry to the library, Library RFID Management System for issue & return of books, security and intelligence, centrally air-conditioned and Coffee & Snacks Shop  and equipped with university library software "Libsys7".

Open Access

Open-access (OA) literature is free, digital, and available to anyone online. An open-access document has limited copyright and licensing restrictions which means anyone, anywhere, with access to the Internet may read, download, copy, and distribute that information. As with any scholarly article traditional or otherwise authors of an open-access article should be properly acknowledged and cited. Here we have come-up with an initiative to provide subject wise links of Open Access materials that will enable easy and quick access for literature search.
