About the Programme
The Master of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication is a future-oriented two-year postgraduate programme offered by the Sharda School of Media, Film and Entertainment, designed to cultivate advanced media professionals capable of leading in the rapidly transforming global communication landscape. This programme blends academic depth with practical proficiency across critical areas such as investigative journalism, editorial design, digital storytelling, public relations, advertising strategy, and media research.
With a strong emphasis on emerging media trends, the curriculum is continuously updated to include cutting-edge modules on Digital Marketing, Social Media Management, Content Strategy, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Students explore the power of AI-driven content creation, data journalism, audience analytics, mobile-first reporting, and multimedia production, making them adept at engaging with today’s tech-driven media platforms.
Experiential learning is central to the programme. Students undertake projects such as short films, documentaries, podcasts, blogs, digital campaigns, and research portfolios. Real-world exposure is offered through media internships, field visits, newsroom simulations, and masterclasses by leading professionals from the news, advertising, digital media, and PR industries.
In addition to core skills, the programme nurtures critical thinking, public speaking, personality development, and a deep understanding of media law and ethics, ensuring graduates are responsible, articulate, and globally competent communicators. Upon completion, students are prepared to pursue careers in broadcast journalism, digital content strategy, public affairs, corporate communication, or further academic advancement through Ph.D.,UGC-NET, or JRF.
