Suno Sharda 90.8 FM participated in 7th Community Radio Sammelan at Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhawan in New Delhi on 29th August 2019

The 7th community radio sammelan was concluded on 29 th  August 2019. It was a 2-day event held at Dr. BR Ambedkar Bhawan in New Delhi.
The theme for this years sammelan was ‘Community Radio for SDGs. The event was
inaugurated by the Ministry of Information and Technology Secretary Amit Khare who
applauded the ‘community radio stations for their enthusiasm in spearheading the community radio movement and their importance in disseminating information during the time of disaster. Khare also emphasized on the need for each district to have its own community radio and the involvement of local heroes in helping the messages is more impactful.
 
RJ Gagan Gautam from Suno Sharda 90.8FM attended the two-day event which also saw Union  Minister Prakash Javadekar presenting the National Awards for community radio for the years 2018 and 2019 in 5 categories namely- Thematic, Community Engagement, Promoting Local Culture, Most Creative/Innovative and Sustainability Category. He commended the winners and participants for their role in community radio across the country.
 Javadekar also launched the booklet ‘Jan Connect: Clear Intentions, Decisive Actions which throws light on key decisions of the government in the first 75 days of its second tenure.  A short film based on the step by step process of setting up a community radio station was also launched at the event.
