About the Programme

The programme comprises core theory along with laboratory course as well as one ability enhancement elective (AEEC) and compulsory (AECC) such as Computer Science and Basic/Intermediate English respectively. In addition the programme also focuses on two Generic electives (GE) offered in Chemistry and Mathematics. To prepare students for the research field the programme also offers a research project on an individual basis in final semesters as a discipline-specific elective (DSE) too.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO)

  • PEO1: Equipping students with specific and pertinent knowledge in Biochemistry through creative teaching techniques.
  • PEO2: Encouraging young minds to gain both theoretical understanding and practical abilities in various aspects of Biochemistry and equipping them with the ability to solve problems through the knowledge they have acquired.
  • PEO3: Encouraging interdisciplinary research in collaboration with National/ International laboratories/institutes/research and technology organizations.
  • PEO4: Teaching ethical principles regarding the safe handling of chemicals and various topics related to chemical/biochemical compounds and processes.
  • PEO5: Bridging research gaps with advanced tools and techniques through educational initiatives.
