B.Tech Electrical & Electronics Engineering

Electrical and Electronics engineering continues to be an ever demanding industry as indicated by the current trend for hiring graduates. Electrical and electronics engineers are working today in all spheres of modern society, be it internet, cellular communication, satellites, industrial control systems, power systems, non -conventional energy sources or DC and AC transmission systems. The curriculum of the department of electrical and electronics engineering is therefore designed to impart the students consummate knowledge and skills for careers in wide range of industries. The entire course structure consists of eight semesters.Students are given a free choice to select the electives from a variety of courses being offered by the department (department electives)in conjunction with the other allied branches of study (open electives). The students are encouraged to design and build a project of their choice in the final semester that helps them to apply the nuances of their theoretical principles with the practical aspects.

  • Matriculation with 60% marks
  • Sr. Secondary (10+2) with 60% marks (Aggregate & PCM; PCB for Biotechnology; any three of Physics, Chemistry, Math and Computer Science, without a gap.
  • SUAT (Online Test), followed by Personal Interview

Electrical and Electronics engineers work in a variety of fields including power sector (generation, transmission, and distribution), machine design, renewable energy sector, biomedical engineering, aerospace industry, communications industry and IT. Career Path

Electrical Engineers apply electronic and electromagnetic/optical design principles to design, build, and test analog or digital devices, circuits, and systems - for processing, communication, and storage of information; distribution, conversion, and storage of energy; and process automation or robotics. Application areas include communication, manufacturing, power and energy, health care, computing, security, entertainment, and many others. By their choice of elective courses, students specialize in the following broad domains: 

  • Communication systems, control systems, power generation, transmission and distribution

  • Digital hardware, software, and the computer as a component

  • Electronic, radio-frequency, or optical devices, circuits and fabrication

  • Electrical machines, electric drives, power electronics

Based on their choice of elective courses, it is common to find electrical and electronics engineers working in biomedical engineering, computer hardware, the aerospace industry, computer software, nanoelectronic chips, photonics, nano-engineering, robotics, and solar energy harvesting & distribution.
