About

Prof (Dr) Geetha Ganesan is a distinguished researcher, educator, and academic leader with 28 + years of combined experience spanning software development, higher education, research and administration. She holds a Ph.D. in Cryptography and Network Security and is a Microsoft Certified Programmer and Solution Developer. Her multifaceted career includes 7 years in the software industry, working with leading organizations such as Verizon in Dallas, Texas, and United States Automobile Association in San Antonio, Texas, followed by 21+ years of dedicated service in prestigious institutions including Sathyabama University, Lovely Professional University,  JAIN University and currently Sharda University.

Dr. Geethas research portfolio demonstrates 100+ scholarly publications and her research expertise encompasses cybersecurity, blockchain technology, artificial intelligence, and sustainable computing, with a particular focus on bridging theoretical foundations with practical applications. She has successfully mentored 9 Ph.D. students to completion and serves as a trusted reviewer for prestigious international journals including IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems, Elsevier's Sustainable Cities and Societies, and Elsevier's Chaos, Solitons and Fractals. Her editorial contributions include serving as Lead Guest Editor for Springer Nature Computer Science and Special Issue Editor for the International Journal of Information Security and Privacy etc.

As an innovative researcher, Dr. Geetha holds 4 patents that demonstrate her commitment to translating research into real-world applications. Her patents cover ground breaking work in water quality parameter evaluation using machine learning, space object detection using LIDAR technology (successfully commercialized to Digantara Space Technologies) etc.

Dr. Geethas leadership extends beyond research to encompass significant organizational and administrative achievements. She has orchestrated 19 international conferences, including multiple editions of the International Conference on Computing Sciences, Global Sustainability Conference, conferences on Robotics and Artificial Intelligence and Indian Science Congress. She has delivered several keynote lectures in prestigious conferences held in USA, Indonesia, Dubai, China etc.

She secured over INR 2 crores in research funding from prestigious organizations including the Department of Science and Technology, the European Union's Erasmus+ Programme, and various government agencies. Her initiatives have resulted in the establishment of specialized research facilities and industry partnerships, including collaborations with global technology leaders such as Google, IBM, PWC, Microsoft, Intel, CISCO, and major instrumentation companies like Bruker, Perkin Elmer, Shimadzu, Metrohm, and JEOL.

Dr. Geetha has been honored with multiple awards including Best Faculty Award, Research Appreciation Award, and Best Educationist Award, recognizing her excellence in teaching, research, and academic leadership.  She is the President of Advanced Computing Research Society and active member in ACM, IEEE and  ISCA. Her work directly contributes to multiple UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 4, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13), reflecting her commitment to addressing global challenges through sustainable computing solutions. Her vision encompasses creating meaningful impact through collaboration, inspiring future leaders, and contributing to a more equitable and sustainable world by integrating sustainability into both teaching and research practices.
