Ms. Saumya is an Assistant Professor of Economics at the School of Law, Sharda University. She holds a B.A. (Hons.) in Economics and an M.A. in Economics with a specialization in International Business from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), one of Indias premier academic institutions. She qualified the University Grants Commission's National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in 2024.
Her academic interests span across International Economics, Trade Policy, Development Studies, and Law and Economics. With a strong foundation in economic theory and quantitative methods, she is committed to fostering interdisciplinary learning and encouraging critical thinking amongst her students.
During her postgraduate studies, Ms. Saumya completed her dissertation titled “Impact of the Russia-Ukraine War on Different Sectors of the Indian Economy”, which examined the geopolitical conflict's repercussions on trade, energy, agriculture, and financial markets in India. This research reflects her keen interest in the global-economic nexus and its domestic implications.
