About
Dr. Vaibhav Jaiswal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, School of Engineering & Sciences, Sharda University, Greater Noida. He holds a Ph.D. and M.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, with specialization in machine design, product design, CAD modelling, finite element analysis, biomechanical device design, and applied machine learning.
His doctoral research focused on the design and development of a user-configurable passive polycentric prosthetic knee joint for transfemoral amputees. The work involved four-bar linkage mechanism design, CAD modelling, kinematic analysis, FEA-based structural validation, ISO 10328-based testing, prototyping, and human subject trials. His research interests include prosthetic and assistive device design, mechanism design, biomedical product development, CAD/CAE-based simulation, structural analysis, additive manufacturing, and AI/ML applications in mechanical engineering.
Dr. Jaiswal has contributed to several research publications, patents, book chapters, and conference papers. He is the inventor of a granted Indian patent on a passive polycentric knee joint with variable link length, knee rotator, and anterior-posterior translation mechanism. His research has been published in reputed journals and Indian Patent Journals.
At Sharda University, he has taught undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Machine Design, CAD Modelling, Additive Manufacturing, Advanced Materials Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for Engineering Applications, and Python-based problem solving. He is also actively involved in outcome-based education, accreditation documentation, student mentoring, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary project guidance. His technical expertise includes SolidWorks, Autodesk Fusion 360, ANSYS Workbench, Abaqus, MATLAB, Python, machine learning tools, 3D printing, and biomechanical motion analysis.
