About
Dr. Vaibhav Jaiswal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sharda University, India. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2025, where his doctoral research focused on the design and development of a user-configurable passive polycentric knee joint for transfemoral amputees. His research interests include prosthetic and rehabilitation devices, biomedical product design, gait characterization of human locomotion, CAD/FEA-based design validation, structural modelling and simulation, material behaviour, and AI/ML applications in biomechanics. He has experience in simulation-driven product development, ISO 10328-based lower-limb prosthetic testing, prototype fabrication, composite fabrication, medical image processing, and human-subject rehabilitation feedback. His work includes peer-reviewed journal publications, book chapters, conference presentations, technology-transfer activity, and a granted Indian patent on a passive polycentric knee joint with variable link length, knee rotator, and anterior-posterior translation mechanism. At Sharda University, he teaches UG/PG courses related to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning for engineering applications, Machine Design, Advanced Materials Engineering, CAD Modelling and 3D Printing, Fundamentals of Human Biomechanics, and Application of Python in Problem Solving. He is also actively involved in outcome-based education, accreditation documentation, student mentoring, curriculum development, and interdisciplinary project guidance.
