Ankush Verma: A Multifaceted Force in Indian Cinema and Performing Arts
Ankush Verma is a dynamic personality in Indian cinema and performing arts. An alumnus of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, he combines a rich background in performance with strong academics. He holds a Masters degree in Mass Communication from Himachal Pradesh University and a PGDM in Data Science and Business Analytics, along with diplomas and certifications in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Python (IBM), Urdu, and Dramatic Arts—blending creativity with analytical insight.
As an actor, writer, director, and mentor, Ankush has collaborated with icons including Shabana Azmi, Rajkumar Hirani, Hansal Mehta, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, Nana Patekar, Jaideep Ahlawat, Tom Alter,Late Irrfan Khan, Raghuveer Yadav, Naseeruddin Shah, and Seema Biswas. His career spans theatre, film, documentaries, and digital platforms. He acted in Kathmandu Connection Season 2 on Sony LIV and co-wrote and featured in the viral Astro Talk advertisement, which crossed one million views.
His short film Lady Bird received wide appreciation, while his documentary Main Shaheed aur Shahjahanpur won the Best Documentary Film Award at the Shaheed Mela Film Festival. As an actor, he earned the Best Actor Award at the Bangalore International Film Festival.
Beyond performance, Ankush has shaped future talent as a faculty member and visiting professor in leading universities and film schools in India and Nepal. He has conducted over 120 workshops and mentored actors who later appeared in Laapataa Ladies, Animal, and Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain.
