About

Dr. Kalicharan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Sharda University, Greater Noida, with over 14 years of academic and industry experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi, where his doctoral research focused on plant disease detection and classification using machine learning.

His research expertise lies in machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and intelligent systems, with applications in agriculture, healthcare, and communication technologies. He has published widely in reputed SCI and Scopus-indexed journals, including Trans. Emerging Telecommunications Technologies, Geocarto International, Expert Systems, and Springers Lecture Notes in Electrical Engineering. Notable contributions include hybrid deep learning architectures for plant leaf disease classification, optimization-driven feature selection techniques, and AI-based solutions for ocular image analysis and sign language recognition. He published more than 15 high impact research papers.

Dr. Kalicharan has also published a number of patents few of them are titled as “Automated Scholarly Profile Builder” (2025), Automated Scholarly Profile Builder, Application Number: 202511019473. Field: Computer Science, Publication Date: 21/03/2025, and The Future of Work: Human-AI Collaboration and Skill Adaptation in The Context of Digital Transformation, Application Number: 202541037577, Field: Computer Science, Publication Date: 09/05/2025. and has guided three M. Tech.  and six B. Tech. projects. His academic achievements include NET, GATE qualification, and Cisco certifications.

Through his interdisciplinary research and mentoring, Dr. Kalicharan continues to advance impactful applications of AI-driven technologies for solving real-world challenges while nurturing future researchers and engineers.
