Dr. Zohra Khatoon is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, Sharda University. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Aligarh Muslim University, where her doctoral research focused on counselling interventions for alleviating mental health problems. A UGC-NET qualified psychologist, she brings together over eight years of professional counselling experience and more than three years of university teaching experience, reflecting her commitment to academic excellence, evidence-based psychological practice, and student development.

Prior to joining Sharda University, Dr. Zohra served as an Assistant Professor at Akal University, Punjab. She also worked as a Student Counsellor at Aligarh Muslim University and as a Mental Health Counsellor with MANODARPAN, Ministry of Education, Government of India, where she provided psychological counselling and psychosocial support to students, parents, and educators. These diverse academic and professional experiences have strengthened her expertise in counselling, teaching, research, and academic mentoring.

Dr. Zohra has taught a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, including Counselling Psychology, Personality Psychology, Research Methodology, Statistics for Psychology, Organizational and Industrial Psychology, Rehabilitation Psychology, and Artificial Intelligence in Psychological Research. She has also supervised research at the undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, including the successful supervision of two Ph.D. scholars, postgraduate dissertations, and undergraduate research projects.

She has contributed to the academic literature through research articles, books, and book chapters and continues to pursue interdisciplinary research that advances mental health, psychological resilience, and human flourishing. She is committed to advancing psychological science through innovative teaching, impactful research, evidence-based counselling, and the mentorship of future psychologists.
