About

Dr. Saurabh Srivastava has been working as an Assistant Professor (Psychology) at the Sharda School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Sharda University, since February 2023. Prior to this, he served as Assistant Professor (Gr I) at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, from April 2016 to February 2023. He also worked as a counselor at Bharosa Trust, Lucknow, from April 2012 to March 2015.  

Dr. Srivastava earned his Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Lucknow in 2021, with his dissertation focusing on "Optimism, Social Support and Coping Strategies and Predictors of Quality of Life among MSM". He holds an M.A. in Psychology from the University of Lucknow (2010) and a B.A. in Psychology from the same university (2008), both with First Division. He also holds a Certificate in NGO Management from Indira Gandhi National Open University (2016) and qualified the UGC National Eligibility Test (UGC-NET) in 2015.  

Dr. Srivastava's areas of specialization include Applied Social Psychology, deviant and LGBT populations, and action research focused on developing counseling and intervention packages. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and a life member of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology and the Indian Society for Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis.  

His recent achievements include serving as an Editorial Member of Edwin Group of Journals and designing and developing the M.A. Clinical Psychology and BA Psychology Programs at Sharda University. He has also been involved in various administrative and extension services at Sharda University.  

Dr. Srivastava has presented and published several research papers and book chapters. He has also delivered lectures and served as a resource person and session chairperson at conferences and workshops.

  • Resource person in Army HQ Central Command (Edn) Lucknow for the “Career Testing Guidance and Counselling” from March 2020 to March 2021
  • Assisted in development of syllabus of Value-Added Course of Social Inclusion of LGBT Community for M.A. CBCS Psychology Program for Department of Psychology, university of Lucknow.
  • Assisted in development of Post Graduate Diploma in Garbh Sanskar Program for Institute of Womens Studies, university of Lucknow.
  • Best Paper Award: 57th National and 26th International Conference of Indian Academy of Applied Psychology (27th-29th Jan 2022) Co-presented a paper titled "Relationship Between Prosocial Behavior, Self-Compassion, and Social Desirability among Young Adults" Organized jointly by Department of Clinical Psychology and Department of Psychology, Mizoram University, Mizoram.
