About
Dr. Parinder Kaur is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Life Sciences, School of Bio-Sciences and Technology at Sharda University, Greater Noida, India. She has conducted extensive research in the area of millet starch modification using atmospheric cold plasma technology.
Her areas of specialization include starch modification, cold plasma processing, biodegradable packaging materials, non-thermal food processing, and waste valorization. She has authored more than six peer-reviewed scientific articles and three book chapters with internationally reputed publishers.
Dr. Kaur has been recognized for her research contributions and was awarded the Young Researcher Award at the National Conference “Emerging Technologies for Sustainable Agro-Food-Bio Systems (ET-SAFe)”, held at Tezpur University, 2025.
Dr. Kaurs research aims to develop sustainable, innovative, and value-added food systems by integrating non-thermal technologies with underutilized grain resources such as millets. Her work focuses on understanding molecular mechanisms of starch modification and translating them into practical applications in food processing and biodegradable packaging.
In addition to her academic and research work, Dr. Kaur has been actively involved in GATE coaching and career guidance for the past six years, mentoring students toward higher education and competitive examinations. She is passionate about teaching, student development, and promoting research-driven learning.
