Dr. Nikhil Sharma is an academician and researcher specializing in secure and intelligent systems for the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT), with research interests spanning Deep Learning, Blockchain, Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI). He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Delhi Technological University (DTU), Government of NCT of Delhi, in 2025. He received his M.Tech. from Ambedkar Institute of Advanced Communication Technologies & Research (now Netaji Subhash University of Technology East Campus), Delhi, and his B.Tech. from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, India.
Dr. Sharma is currently serving as a faculty member at the Sharda School of Computing Science and Engineering, Sharda University, Greater Noida. He has over 7 years of academic experience in teaching, research, and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students.
His research focuses on developing scalable, secure, and privacy-preserving intelligent healthcare systems by integrating advanced technologies such as Deep Learning, Blockchain, Explainable AI, and Reinforcement Learning. His work addresses critical challenges in IoMT security, cyberattack detection, medical data privacy, and trustworthy AI-driven healthcare applications.
Dr. Sharma has authored numerous research articles published in reputed SCI/SCIE-indexed journals and actively serves as a reviewer for leading international publishers, including IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, Sage Journals, Taylor & Francis, Bentham Science Publishers, Inderscience Publishers, and Wiley. He also serves as a reviewer for Scopus-indexed edited book proposals and reviewer for Scopus-indexed books, contributing to the quality assurance of scholarly publications in emerging areas of computing and information technology. According to Google Scholar, his publications have received 1,867 citations, with an h-index of 26 and an i10-index of 45, demonstrating the significant impact of his research contributions.
In addition to his research activities, he serves as a Technical Program Committee (TPC) member in more than 25+ conferences, Session Chair, and reviewer for several prestigious international conferences. His academic excellence has been recognized through multiple honours, including the Research Excellence and Innovation Award, Best Paper Award, and Best Presenter Award.
