Event Description

This year on 15th August, Independence of India celebrated its 70th Independence Day. To celebrate this remarkable day in the history of our country, Sharda University also organized the Independence Day Celebrations. The celebrations commenced with the Guard of Honor by the security men to the Chief Guest, Pro Chancellor Sharda University, Mr. YK Gupta followed by flag hoisting and National Anthem which was sung by the students from the Music Club of Cultural Society. Students as well as faculty and staff members from all the schools were present on the occasion. Speaking to the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Y.K .Gupta stressed the students to uphold the virtues for which great sacrifices were made and give their best in the fields they are in and take the country to the greater heights which our freedom forbearers had envisioned. Advisor to the Chancellor, Mr. R.P Aggarwal also addressed the gathering. While quoting the shloks from the Bagwat Gita, he asked students and faculty to be honest to their work and explore and exploit their talent to the best use for the nation and its people.
At celebrations, Music and Dance clubs of Cultural Society of Sharda University also performed. Through the art of Music and Dance students of the respective clubs highlighted the importance of freedom and sacrifices that were and still are rendered by our countrymen. Impressed and influenced by the performance of students on stage, chief guest Mr. YK Gupta announced the cash prize of 5000 INR to the students.
