Ph.D in Nursing
Overview
The INC-recognized Ph.D. in Nursing is designed to prepare nurse scholars who will contribute to the advancement and application of quality nursing care, research, education, and clinical practice, as well as conduct relevant research through the testing of theories related to nursing science. The Ph.D. programme offered by the Sharda School of Nursing Science and Research is a research-oriented doctoral degree that requires approximately 5–7 years for completion.
This programme involves undertaking in-depth nursing research aimed at improving healthcare services and systems. Candidates seeking admission to the Ph.D. Nursing programme must possess a Master’s degree in Nursing or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 60 percent.
Application & Admission Process

- Step 2: Confirm Programme/Specialisation, generate your System ID
- Step 3: Complete Additional details/Educational Details & Upload photo signature & Documents
- Step 4: Proceed with the payment of the application fee i.e. INR 1500 /-
- Step-5: Online Enterance Exam (In the case, Ph.D application approved)

Candidates with valid selection from NET / GATE / SET / UET / any other equivalent test conducted by GOI accredited agency (to be decided by the selection committee) are exempted from entrance test and get preference in selection.

Eligibility Criteria
Applications are invited from eligible scholars who have obtained —
- M.Phil. in Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing or a Post Graduate degree in Nursing recognized by Council with 3 years teaching or Clinical experience after M.Sc. Nursing for enrolment for Ph.D. in Nursing (part-time) under Faculty of Nursing in the respective University.
- The scholars should have passed M.Sc. Nursing with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Working in Teaching Institution/Hospital/Community Centre/Nursing Department within the University jurisdiction.
