Dr. Gouri Sankar Mishra is a distinguished academician, researcher, and educator with more than 25 years of teaching experience in Computer Science and Engineering. He is currently serving as Professor in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Sharda University, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, academic leadership, and innovation.
His research interests encompass Machine Translation, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Image Processing and Computer Vision. He has made substantial scholarly contributions through 36 international journal publications, 17 international conference papers and 3 book chapters with many of his works published in prestigious SCIE, Scopus, Springer, IEEE Xplore, and other internationally recognized indexing databases.
As a research supervisor, Dr. Mishra has successfully guided two Ph.D. scholars and both are awarded. He is also an innovator with three published patents and 1 granted 2 under review by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trademarks, Government of India.
Beyond teaching and research, Dr. Mishra has played a significant role in academic administration and quality assurance. He has served in several key capacities, including NAAC Coordinator, NBA Criterion Coordinator, Convocation Coordinator, Alumni Coordinator, Project Coordinator, and Year Coordinator for the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. He has actively contributed to the successful organization of IEEE and Springer international conferences, hackathons, and numerous technical and socio-cultural events, fostering a vibrant academic ecosystem.
Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Mishra has completed several NPTEL-SWAYAM MOOCs and has been recognized by NPTEL-SWAYAM for his valuable contributions as a Mentor for online courses. His dedication to mentoring students and promoting outcome-based education has significantly enriched the academic environment.
