Ananda Babu Arumugam

Dr. Ananda Babu Arumugam is an Associate Professor of the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the School of Engineering and Technology, Sharda University, India.  Dr. Ananda Babu obtained his doctorate from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore. He obtained his B.E-Manufacturing Engineering in College of Engineering, Guindy, Chennai, and his M.E- Engineering Design in PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore from Anna University. Dr. Ananda Babu worked in Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore about eight years with the various designation. He has experience of about eleven years in both teaching and research. He has published more than twenty research articles in peer-reviewed international journals with high impact factors. He has authored three monographs in his fields. Dr. Ananda Babu has one ongoing INR 24.18 lakh funded project (2019-2022) in Sharda University sponsored by the SERB-DST, New Delhi. He has qualified Lifing Specialist Level 1 certified by J.S. Rao, The Vibration Institute of India, 2010. He is the Corporate Member in Institution of Engineers, India (IEI). He has secured Elite Silver with 5 % Topper in the course Introduction to Composites conducted by SWAYAM-NPTEL. My research is in the field of developing micro and macro modeling of hybrid composite materials and strength and stiffness based dynamic and failure analysis of laminated composite structures focusing on computational methods with connections to solid mechanics. The vision that drives this work is of a world where composite materials and their structural forms technologies are widespread, and working to assist decision-makers in critical domains.
