Its that time of the year again – When fun, frolic and excitement will fill the air at Sharda University campus. This year’s theme for Chorus 2014 is – “Carnival”. The colorfulness, cheer and exuberance of a Carnival is infectious and so is the spirit of Chorus 2014. The spirit of a Carnival is free, when everybody is out to enjoy, away from the drudgery of everyday life. A Carnival is about celebrating all that you have achieved in life, celebrating without a care in the world. Such carefree merry times and non-stop entertainment synonymous with a ‘Carnival’ is the theme of Chorus this year.

The line-up of events at the Chorus 2014 are Battle of the Bands, Sur Sartaj, Rap Wars, Mosaic Bolt (Group Dance), Prodigy (Solo Dance), Treasure Hunt, Nukkad Natak, Filmvertoning (Short film competition), Style Fiesta, Mr. & Ms. Chorus, Debate, Ad Mad, Boardroom Battle, Quiz, JAM, Rangoli, Collage making, Painting, Mehandi, Tattoo making, Click it, Gonfle gaming (NFS, FIFA, Cricket, Counter strike), Rowdies 2014 and Futsal. For most of these contests, one team per college is invited. So, come on aboard – what are you waiting for?

 

At Chorus 2014, country’s best musicians, stage artists, performing artists and event designers will be at Sharda campus to entertain us and the rest of Delhi. Enthused by the response in last few years, this year also we have an array of top entertainers of the country (and the world {?}) performing at Chorus 2014. Well who? About Chorus

 

Chorus, the annual mega-cultural festival of Sharda University and one of the largest and the most glamorous fests of Northern India, is celebrated in February every year. It is an amalgamation of entertainment, excitement, and puissance. Chorus offers a delicious cocktail of cultural diversity, social awareness and unending entertainment, by offering a rich blend of dance, music, arts, workshops and quizzes.

Over the past years, Chorus has established itself as one of the most enthralling cultural festivals in the NCR. Continuing with the tradition of providing an academically and culturally stimulating atmosphere, we endeavor to achieve and build on the grand success of Chorus’ 11 which saw a footfall of around 15,000 students from over 150 Colleges and Universities from all over the nation. Chorus has seen mesmerizing performances by Sonu Nigam, Simon Webb- Blue, UK, Jal- The Band, Hard Kaur, Underground Authority, Gajendra Verma, Jasmine Sandlas and KK. Moreover, the festival had offered stellar performances by giants of entertainment industry such as Rannvijay, Roadies host and VJ on MTV, who hosted the famous reality show on the campus. Some other hallmarks of Chorus have been the guest lecture by Mr. Imtiaz Ali, the Director of the Bollywood movie- Jab We Met and Rockstar and a Inter-college quiz, conducted by renowned TV host Mr. Charu Sharma, for all those who wanted to put their knowledge to test.

Sharda University is a University established through UP State Act in 2009 and approved by University Grants Commission of India (UGC). It is based in Greater NOIDA, Delhi NCR. The university offers Bachelor, Master and PhD degree courses in Medical Sciences, Dental Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Nanotechnology, Environmental Engineering, Bioinformatics, Pharmaceuticals, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Allied Science, Business Administration, Mass Communication, Journalism and Advertising, Basic Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology), Law, Languages and Culture. In 2013 the SGI group has more than 25,000 students and around 12,000 alumni well placed in the industry.

 

SGI established its first self financing Engineering College in Mathura, UP in 1995 with 160 students. Today, it is the largest Educational Group in North India with 6 colleges and a University, 44 Lacs sqft. built-up area and an asset base of over 900 crores.
