About the Programme
The course would help students learn how to empower people throughout communities, regardless of their social, economic, racial or educational background. The course combines practice and theory, and the students must demonstrate academic excellence and the ability to work hands-on in the field of psychology. The focus is firmly on social justice, providing equal opportunities for all, and researching how to improve this.
Master of Arts - Clinical Psychology course is divided into four semesters. The first semester covers core papers, and the second semester shall cover two core papers and two discipline-specific electives. In the third and last semester, students shall cover papers focusing on research methods along with dissertations in their opted specialization. This course will enable them to choose careers in education, research, counselling, social work, rehabilitation, creative writing, government jobs, and public policy and administration.

- PEO1: To understand concepts and principles of different disciplines of humanities, social sciences and languages and their inter-relation.
- PEO2: To demonstrate a detailed understanding of the selected core discipline of study.
- PEO3: To apply an independent approach to address various issues related to the core area of specialization by using appropriate theories and methodologies.
- PEO4: To work as an independent, critically discerning and creative participant in the workplace, community and personal life.
Program Outcomes of the MA inMaster of Arts - Clinical Psychology:
- PO1: Theory and Content of Psychology: Become familiar with the major concepts, theoretical perspectives, empirical findings, and historical trends in psychology.
- PO2: Methods in Psychology: Understand and apply basic research methods in psychology, including research design, data analysis, and interpretation.
- PO3: Applications of Psychology: Understand and apply psychological principles to personal, social, and organizational issues.
- PO4: Critical Thinking Skills: Respect and use critical and creative thinking, sceptical inquiry, and, when possible, the scientific approach to solve problems related to behaviour and mental processes.
- PO5: Intellectual Skills: Enable students to develop skills in the areas of communication, information gathering, problem solving, and quantitative and qualitative methods of inquiry, analysis, and interpretation.
- PO6: Values in Psychology: Weigh evidence, tolerate ambiguity, act ethically, and reflect other values that are the underpinnings of psychology as a discipline.
Program Specific Outcomes of the MA in Master of Arts - Clinical Psychology:
- PSO1: To engage students in the comprehensive study of the discipline so that they can understand and interpret human thought, feeling and behaviour under different circumstances.
- PSO2: To equip them with analytical skills to apply knowledge of social, developmental, cognitive, workplace and organizational psychology in different situations.
- PSO3: To promote innovative and integrative thinking and problem solving and enable them to interpret, design, and conduct basic psychological research.
- PSO4: To prepare students for specializing in careers like counselling, child psychologist, clinical psychologist, human resource specialists, vocational counselling, trainers and researchers

- Graduation with minimum 50% marks with Psychology as one of the subjects.
- Graduation with minimum 60% marks from any subject stream.
International
The eligibility criterion for all programs for international applicants is minimum 50% in the qualifying examination and having studied the pre-requisite subjects for admission in to the desired program.
