The Centre of Excellence is designed as per an upgraded BSL-2 level laboratory with designated places for sample handling, RNA/DNA extraction, Master mix preparation room, PCR set up, Proteomics work bench, serology workbench, cell culture work bench, insectary etc. The Centre also has a dedicated Bioinformatics room.

The Centre of Excellence has dedicated Biosafety Cabinets for sample aliquoting, master mix preparation and cell culture. It has high end microscopy; Zeiss Vert.AI AXI10 microscope, Deep freezer (-80˚C), Qiagen’s Real Time RT-PCR, CO2 incubator and many other major and minor equipment’s required for virology, genomics, proteomics, immunology related work. The centre also has a dedicated bioinformatics work bench and also has facility for maintenance of Aedes mosquitoes (insectary).
