“They inspire you, they entertain you, and you end up learning a ton even when you don’t know it”

Nicholas Sparks in Dear John summarises the experience with the faculty of Sharda University. A teacher is often referred as a nation builder and indeed, each member at Sharda keeps this as a mission while teaching.  The old concept of ‘gurukul’ is often seen as an ideal education system where the student stays with the ‘guru’ or the teacher and imbibes knowledge and lessons of life. The role of teacher transforms blends harmoniously into a role of the mentor which helps the student to gain wisdom and chisel out himself in accordance to the world outside. This mentor-mentee association gave the world some of its greatest leaders – be it Chanakya’s mentee Chandragupta or Aristotle’s mentee Alexander. The world has seen their staggering success which has been possible with the right kind of mentoring. The concept of mentoring still persists effortlessly in Sharda. Each and every student is assigned a faculty member as a mentor. This creates a strong bond between them and enriches campus life, apart from creating a strong learning culture. This is what we at Sharda call knowledge beyond boundaries. Indeed, the world is here!
