About the Programme
The PhD programme in Finance at Sharda University is designed to ensure that students gain a thorough knowledge of the theory of finance and other computational methods along with the structure of modern financial markets before beginning their research. The programme ranges from core topics in financial economics, econometrics, and mathematical methods. The PhD program is strongly research-oriented and emphasises on the early involvement of the students in research projects with expert faculty. The comprehensive structure allows the faculty aims to produce outstanding financial economists capable of taking leading positions in academia or serve as experts in international institutions, government, or the private sector.
The curriculum for this programme encompasses a wide area of topics and concepts, including corporate investments and financing policy, security valuation, portfolio management, the behaviour of prices in speculative markets, financial institutions, and intermediation. In addition to the core programme learning outcomes, students are prepared to evaluate organisational decisions using financial theory and decision-making tools, analyse the impact of theoretical models on issues and problems in the current economic market, demonstrate the skills necessary to make strategic business decisions using a logical framework and evaluate the ethical and legal issues within the financial industry.
