About the Programme
Ph.D. in Dental Sciences is a flag-ship program of SDS, SU. It is aimed to create serious researchers and high level academicians in various sub-fields of Dental Sciences and at the interface with other branches of study, for example Dental Sciences and Engineering / pharmacy / management etc.
The duration of the Ph.D Program is for a minimum period of 3 years and maximum of 6 years from the date of admission.
Each candidate shall complete a minimum of 14 credits of coursework which will include a compulsory course on Research methodology of 4 credits and Research and Publication Ethics of 2 credits as per UGC and SU regulations.
Candidates shall be required to complete their course work during the initial one or two semesters. A minimum of 6.0 CGPA has to be obtained in the course work. Students need to pass Comprehensive viva and get to Research Plan approved to be eligible to register for Ph.D. Normally, the registration process gets completed within 12 months from the time of admission. The thesis can be submitted after approval of research plan after a minimum of 24 months of registration. Publications (acceptance) are required in total 3 journals out of which 2 should be in SCI/Scopus indexed journals.
