About

Prof (Dr) Subir Ranjan Das is a Distinguished Professor and Officiating Dean in School of Business Studies, Sharda University. Prior to this, he was Senior Professor and Vice President – Academic Affairs with University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. He has been the Deputy Director & Dean (Academics) of Amity Institute of Competitive Intelligence and Amity College of Corporate Warfare in Amity University – Uttar Pradesh till April 2006.

Prof. Das has worked with engineering and the banking industry before he joined NIIT Ltd where was a member of the pioneer team that introduced IT education franchising in India. He has a rich experience in the franchising area. In the leadership role in franchising of IT education and IT services, he has worked with Globsyn Technologies Ltd and Tata Infotech Ltd before joining the higher education sector in 2001.

Prof. Das is a Chemical Engineer from Jadavpur University and PhD in engineering and also a post graduate in management.

His teaching, training, research and consulting interests include franchising, corporate skills, business strategy and technology intelligence.

Prof. Das was the recipient of ICQESMS Excellence Award in 2005 for the paper on “Managing Personal Quality in Organisations – An Initiative for Productivity Enhancement”, presented in the 4th Indian Congress for Quality, Energy and Safety Management System (ICQESMS), New Delhi, December 2005. He was also the recipient of Dedicated Service Award from University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun in 2016.

He has been a guest faculty with University of Chester, UK, Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt, Germany and University of Maribor, Slovenia.

Prof. Das has also contributed articles and published various Study Material in the areas of his teaching, written a chapter in the book titled “The Future of Knowledge Management” (ISBN 10:023-032-937-3, ISBN 13:9-78230-32937-9), Macmillan Publishers India Ltd. He has presented papers and delivered lectures at several international/national seminars and conferences.

He has been the Associate Editor and Member of the Editorial Board of Energy Strategy Reviews (ESR), a quarterly journal published by Elsevier Group till 2016 and member of the Editorial Board of UPES Management Review (UMR), a bi-monthly journal published by University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun till December 2017. He was the Research Paper Chair for Indo-Russian Round Table for Science and Technology, held on 15-16 October 2012, New Delhi.

He is an Associate Editor and Member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Intelligence Studies in Business (JSIB) published from Halmstad University, Halmstad, Sweden.
