Dr. Pooja Shukla

Assistant Professor, Allied Health Sciences



Dr. Pooja Shukla, did her schooling in science background  from Gorakhpur. Graduated from Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur in 2009 and also did  Post-Graduation in Biotechnology from Gorakhpur University, Gorakhpur in the year 2011. She awarded with her Ph.D. in molecular-onco-pathology in the Department of Pathology, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow in 2019. There she has established diagnostic test for lung cancer in the Pathology Department  Thereafter, Dr. Shukla has joined as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Surgical-gastroenterology, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow.

Now Dr. Shukla has been associated with Sharda Group as Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Research in School of Allied Health Sciences , Sharda University.

Area of Interest

I have a deep interest in understanding the molecular and immuno-onco-pathology of tumors. My background includes more than 8 years of working experience in the area of molecular onco-pathology. I have got an opportunity to work in the Department of Pathology. I have worked on different types of cancer (thyroid and parathyroid carcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, brain tumors, lung carcinoma (NSCLC), GIST).  By seeing those cases, I have developed an understanding of the mechanism behind the carcinogenesis, and have seen some cases appear with poor clinicopathological features ( TILs, necrosis, LN mets, PNI, LVI) with better survival. What is the possible mechanism behind this? And also wanted to know the tumor microenvironment interaction which can lead to poor survival and precision medicine in human cancers.
