Vaani Dua is an architect and educator by profession. She graduated from School of Planning & Architecture, Delhi in 2007. She also holds a masters degree in architecture from Aayojan School of Architecture, Jaipur. She has nearly 12 years of experience with seven years of working full time in architecture practice where she has designed projects that range from urban planning to hotels & retreat centers to art spaces, weekend houses, social institutes, office buildings, residential towers & meditation centers across India, thereby engaging in diverse issues and varying scales: from interior design and architecture to urban design and planning.
She has also been working on design pedagogy since 2012 when she joined academics. She believes that the role of an educator should be to assist students to understand the value context and design 'tools' available so they may discover creative design partnerships and build responsible experiential outcomes. She guides her students to go beyond academics to strengthen their intuitive ability and empathy to connect themselves to people and nature so that they can develop a design paradigm that is human and environment centric.
