About

Ms. Pooja Mann is an experienced faculty with a demonstrated history of working in the Education Management Industry. She is skilled in Academics, Research, Editing, Proofreading, Publishing, and Digital Publishing. She is a strong educational professional with an MPhil Degree entitled “Saang, A Folk Performance of Haryana: A Feminist Discourse” from Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies, University of Delhi in 2015 which focused on folk theatre and Comparative Literature. She is currently pursuing her PhD from Department of Comparative Literature and Translation Studies, School of Letters, Ambedkar University, Delhi. She has presented two papers in International Conferences. She is an Enthusiastic, Committed Educator with innate ability to understand and motivate students and helping them in creating a cooperative community in the classroom that sets as a model about the importance of mutual respect and cooperation among all community members. She thoroughly enjoys working with students and encourages creative expression.

  • Three years experience in editorial and managerial role in Books and Journals publications in Aptara Corp. Pvt. Ltd. (2012-2015)
  • More than four years experience of teaching English Language, Communication Skills and Literature to students coming from different streams. She also has experience of Second Language Teaching (Sharda University; 2015- Present).

  • Presented a paper on "Understanding the voice of the voiceless through Jaat Womens Folk Songs (Geet)" in the International Conference on "The 21st Century Indian Woman: Representations and Expressions" held on 12-13 March 2019 at PGDAV College, University of Delhi.
  • Presented a paper on “Understanding the role of gender and politics of disguise in Saang” in the International Conference on “New Directions in 21st Century Linguistics, Literature, and Language Teaching” held on 29th and 30th March 2019 in SHSS, Sharda University.

Certifications

  • She has successfully completed a MOOC (at Coursera) titled “English for Career Development”. The course was created by the University of Pennsylvania, and funded by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Office of English Language Programs. The course ran from 3rd April 2017- 7th May 2017, for a total duration of 5 weeks.
  • She has successfully completed a six-week MOOC titled “Teach English Now! Foundational Principles” offered by Coursera and Arizona State University in April 2019.
  • She has successfully completed a six-week MOOC titled “Teach English Now! Theories of Second Language Acquisition” authorized by Arizona State University and offered through Coursera in March 2019.
  • She has also successfully completed an eight-week MOOC titled “Folk and Minor Art in India” on NPTEL from 29th July to 20th September 2019.
