About

He has been an eminent nematologist, teacher, researcher and manager of higher education institutions. He was a Visiting Scientist at Rothamsted Research, UK.; Project Coordinator, Dean PGS & Joint Director, IARI, and Vice-Chancellor, SVPUAT, Meerut, before joining Sharda University in November, 2017. Over 45 years he developed technologies and gave new directions focusing on cropping system based approaches involving modified agronomy and edaphic factors, solarization, organic amendments and biocontrol agents for nematode management in rice, vegetables, pulses, fruit and flower crops; entomopathogenic nematodes for insect pest management; documentation of nematode distribution and biodiversity, demonstrations and transfer of knowledge to farmers and public. He helped in establishment of India-supported agricultural university in Afghanistan and research institutes in Myanmar and Nigeria.

Experience

43 years of experience as a teacher, researcher and manager of higher education institutions. He was 3 Principal Investigator, Network Coordinator or Co-Principal Investigator of several externally funded national and international projects. He had been teaching Nematology since 1977; guided 6 M.Sc. and 12 Ph.D. students and co-supervised several others.
