Dr Shachee Agnihotri is an Assistant Professor of History at the School of Education in Sharda University. Dr Agnihotri has done her PhD from the prestigious Zhejiang University, Hangzhou (QS World Ranking 54) on India-China Government Doctoral Fellowship. She also has an MPhil in China Studies from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and an MA in History from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Her doctoral research does a population projection based on historical demographic analysis of India and China. During her PhD, Dr Agnihotri was a research-member of the Institute for Population and Development Studies, Zhejiang University and was sent as part of the university delegation to the United Nations Population Division, Columbia University & Orlando University in November 2015. She remains a member of the Ma Yinchu Studies Association of Zhejiang Province, China.
Dr Agnihotri has nearly half a dozen papers to her credit at reputed international conferences including at the China Academy of Social Sciences, Southwest University, Chongqing and Fudan University. She presented her recent paper on Chinas long-term care at a conference co-hosted by Peking University and the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai in January 2019. Dr Agnihotri has several publications to her credit from credible publishers such as Routledge and Palgrave Macmillan. Her upcoming publication is a chapter on disability and ageing in an edited volume on social welfare in India and China to be published by Palgrave Macmillan, Beijing. Dr Agnihotri is also a reviewer for the International Journal of Consumer Studies (SSCI journal).
