About

Prof. (Dr). M. Arockia Babu recently joined as Professor in School of Pharmacy (SOP), Sharda University (SU), Greater Noida. Prior to his current employment, he worked as Director-Principal at Chandigarh College of Pharmacy (CCP), Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) - Landran Mohali, Punjab for 4 years 1 month. He also served as Professor and Dean of M.M College of Pharmacy (MMCP), Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana, Haryana for the period of 1 year 2 months.                                                                                            

He has more than 22 years of teaching, administrative and research experience to his credit. Out of these 22 years, he has rendered his service for eight and half years in foreign universities such as School of Pharmacy, International Medical University (IMU), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for 4 years 9 months and in Faculty of Pharmacy, Tobruk University, Tobruk, Libya for 3 years 6 months respectively.                                                         

Dr. Babu has published many of his research works in reputed national and International journals. His research works are also presented at international conferences in many countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand etc., He is experienced in NIRF Ranking, NBA course accreditation, NAAC institutional accreditation, QS World University Ranking etc.                  He is an advisory member in editorial board of many journals including International Journal of Nursing Education & Research, International journal of pharmacology and toxicology, International Journal of Phytopharmacology, Universal Journals Publications, Unique Research Journal of Chemistry, International Journal of Paediatric Nursing, and Asian Pacific Journal of Nursing etc.

He is a life member of many professional bodies like Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Association of Pharmacy Teachers India (APTI), Indian Hospital Pharmacist Association (IHPA) and registered pharmacist in TN State Pharmacy Council.

Experience
  • 22 years of experience in Teaching, administrative and research.
Qualification
  • Dr. Babu obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R Medical University (TNMGRMU), Chennai in the year 1997.
  • Then, he qualified   GATE-98 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) with 98.6 percentile (All India rank-35). He then moved to Shri.G.S Institute of Technology and Sciences (SGSITS), Indore, from where he earned his Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya (DAVV), Indore in the year 2000. He was supported with JRF by AICTE, New Delhi for his masters program. 
  • He received his Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Faculty of Pharmacy from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal in 2006 and received a SRF grant supported by CSIR, New Delhi
Award & Recognition

  • Recipient of Best research paper award in the field of Medicinal Chemistry from Indian Drug Manufacturers Association (IDMA), Mumbai in 2003
  • Recipient of Prof. M. L. Khorana Memorial Prize for best research paper award in the field of Medicinal Chemistry from Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA), Mumba in 2004
  • Received an Outstanding Principal Award of Punjab from Pharmaceutical Royal International Society (Prisal) in year 2022.
