Aparna Datta is presently an Assistant professor in the School of Pharmacy, Sharda University, Knowledge Park-III, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. Aparna obtained her Bachelor degree of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) with 1st class in 2002 from the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Orissa. Subsequently, she pursued Master of Pharmacy, with specialization in Industrial Pharmacy, from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India. **

Award & Recognition

** In July 2004, Aparna was awarded M. Pharm. degree with 1st  Class and 'Distinction', while securing 2nd rank in the University. The title of her M. Pharm. dissertation is 'Selection of product for cleaning validation using worst case approach and validating the cleaning method'. A Post-graduate Diploma in Industrial Hygiene from Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu facilitated her entry into pharmaceutical industry. Aparna served as a Quality Assurance Officer (2004 - 2005) in Oncocare (Cipla) India Pvt. Ltd., Goa, India. She relocated to United States in 2005 and joined as a Visiting Researcher in the Florida International University, Miami, FL, USA, where she served until May, 2007.  Prior to Sharda University, she served as a faculty member in the Department of Pharmacy, IEC College of Engineering and Technology, Knowledge Park-I, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.  

Research

Aparna's research interest is centered around customized synthesis of functional nanomaterials and their applications in the field of drug delivery and biosensors. So far, she has authored/co-authored five manuscripts/papers in the international peer-reviewed journals and presented seven papers in the conferences in India and abroad, which includes one Invited Talk. Her most notable publication, so far, is 'Direct electrical measurements on single-molecule genomic DNA using single-walled carbon nanotubes', which was published in 2008 in the journal Nano Letters (American Chemical Society) having an Impact Factor of 12.279.
