Department of Physiotherapy was established as a constituent unit of School of Allied Health Sciences, when the first batch of students was admitted for BPT and MPT courses. The institution is equipped with infrastructure necessary for Physiotherapy education.

All the Departments of the Institute are fully developed with competent, professionally sound and highly qualified teaching faculty to provide much needed practical training to the students of both under graduate and post graduate courses of BPT and MPT so as to be able to provide relief to their patients with competence and full confidence by utilizing the expertise attained by them at the Institute with state-of-the-art technology.

Physiotherapy clinic is equipped with latest devices and serves in the management of wide range of muscular skeletal and neurological problems. The wide spectrum of cases includes Orthopedic, Neurological, Gynecological, Pediatrics, Burns and Post Surgical conditions; a customized treatment plan is formulated for each case to ensure an optimum functional recovery.
It has taken a special initiative to treat patients with cerebral palsy, Spinal cord injury and Stroke etc. Beside this it also participates actively in the social welfare programs (camps, awareness programmes) at regular interval.
The courses are designed to impart Physiotherapy knowledge along with skills underpinned by relevant biomedical and behavioural sciences. Problem based learning approach and innovative education strategies are used to facilitate integration of clinical and basic sciences.
