About Department

SBS's Department of Marketing is at the forefront of the pioneering thinking affecting today’s markets, consumer behaviour and marketing functions. The department is committed to creating a unique centre to acquire, create and disseminate marketing domain knowledge to the students. It provides a holistic development to the students in the various functional areas of marketing.

Every year, the department organises various conferences, seminars, symposiums, guest lectures, field visits, live projects to give students all round development.

The department comprises of ten specialists from industry and academia having vast exposure in all the domain areas of marketing. The research conducted by the professors appears in rigorous, relevant publications that in turn feed into the department’s teaching activities.

  • Apart from the general marketing and specialisation disciplines, the department has commenced offering disciplines like Digital Marketing & Marketing Analytics as per the demand of changing industry practices.

  • Organised one-day MDP for Johnson lifts on Teamwork & Interpersonal Relations at their six different locations viz: Jaipur, Mohali, Lucknow, Noida, Delhi & Gurgaon. (March, 16)
  • Organised one-day training/MDP for Simon Electric (On behalf of Parishram Resources) on Communications & Customer Relations at Noida (March, 16)
  • Organised one-day training/MDP for Coloplast (On behalf of Parishram Resources) on Change Management  at Delhi
  • Organised one-day training/MDP for Johnson lifts on Communication & Customer Relations at their six different locations viz: Jaipur, Mohali, Lucknow, Noida, Delhi & Gurgaon.
  • Organised three-day training/MDP for Mahindra Finance on different topics like strategy, quality etc. (On behalf of ICMAI) at Delhi (July, 15)

  • A workshop on “Consumer Behaviour” Psychological Principles to Enhance Effectiveness was organised on 20th April 2015. The resource person was Prof. Frank Bond, Director, Institute of Management Studies, Goldsmiths, University of London.
  • A Digital Marketing Bootcamp a Workshop, which intends to create awareness about the role and usage of various social media tools in our day-to-life, in association with Buzzooka Infomedia Pvt. Ltd., was organized on 23rd September 2014. The expert speaker was Mr. Somesh Jagga, Co-Founder & Business Head, Buzzooka Infomedia Pvt. Ltd.
  • A one day Workshop on “Fiction Writing” was organised on 3rd April 2014. Resource person for this workshop was Mr. Rahul Saini. He is an author of 5 bestseller novels. His latest novel is “Just for You” published by Penguin India.
  • Organised One day workshop on SPSS (March 2014)

A one-day seminar on “Emerging Trends in Indian Market: Opportunities & Challenges” was organised on 23rd March 2012.
