School of Architecture & Planning (SAP)

The School of Architecture and Planning at Sharda believes in a world and built environment that is fundamentally cohesive and interconnected. It believes that buildings are much more than mere settings for human actors. It believes that our built environment actively shapes who we are. It believes in producing involved experts who want to assume significant roles in producing environments that are ecologically, economically, socially and culturally sustainable.

Our learning extends beyond conventional classroom instruction, preparing our students to engage with their fields and the larger world. Great emphasis is laid on rigor and self-reflexivity within the course curricula. Students are allowed to choose their own unique pathways through the course, thereby (re)creating and (re)producing themselves as professionals with multiple expertise.

Our faculty comprises of academicians from internationally renowned universities such as Cornell, University of Cincinnati, Ecole Des Beaux Art, Paris, University of Manitoba, Jawaharlal Nehru University, School of Planning & Architecture, National Institute of Design, Delhi College of Art, as well as leading Architectural practitioners and Planning professionals from all over the country. With the campus being in close proximity to Delhi, we have access to the best minds from across the country and the globe. Our committed and energetic faculty, staff and students form a diverse, creative, and collaborative community within Sharda University.

Dean Message

Being just four years old, the youngest of all the undergraduate professional programmes offered by Sharda University, this School is demanding more and more attention from the world by making a variety of frequent creative expressions such as drawings, sculptures, images, melodies and other modes.

The B Arch programme conforms to the norms of the University as well as those of the Council of Architecture, Government of India.

With every passing year, the School is turning a new page in terms of learning and teaching through familiar methods and much more through interactive sessions with celebrated Architects, visits to hill stations, coastal cities, heritage cities and the list goes on.

As the School believes in the age old saying “practice makes one perfect” and the 21st century being all about effective communication, students take part not only in frequent presentation of their work within the School, but also in NASA, Zonal NASA, Workshops, Seminars, Colloquiums in and around Delhi, the NCR and also across the length and breadth of India.

Last but not the least; Architecture is a multi-disciplinary and multi-skill profession needing inputs from a wide range of fields.  Being part of a global university students learn from Schools of Medicine, Engineering & Technology, Management, Law, Basic Sciences, Languages and Humanities.
