National Seminar on 'International Financial Reporting Standards: Issues & Challenges' in SBS

School of Business Studies (SBS), Sharda University is organizing one day National Seminar on 'International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS): Issues & Challenges in India' on Friday, April 13, 2012 from 9: 00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. in the SBS Auditorium.

Government of India has agreed to implement international Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) from January 2014 to meet the international commitment. Already 140 countries have agreed to adopt IFRS and are at different stages of implementation. The process is to unify the presentation of financial statements and positions of the business entity across the global. In this direction, Indian Accounting standards would need convergence with IFRS.

The seminar is intended to focus on major differences between GAAP and IFRS and highlight the possible issues which might emerge in the Indian scenario. Hon’ble CA Shri. Amarjeet Chopra, former President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has kindly consented to inaugurate the seminar and deliver keynote address. Many eminent speakers will also be sharing their valuable views on various aspects of the theme of the seminar
