An operation theatre technician is a person who looks after all the work and management of the operation theatre which includes managing the patients in & out of operation theatre, looking after all the surgical instruments, their sterilization, arrangement of operation table, dressing table, instrument table, anesthesia table as well as management of staff. An technician also assist the surgeon during the operations and looking after the drugs required for surgery, anesthetic gases, drapes and all the linen & their sterilization.
Aim of the course is to teach and train students in handling variety of operating instruments are includes electronic and advanced equipments used in modern operation theatres. This is the full time program comprising of lectures, demonstration, Computer knowledge, Assignment, Projects, Documentation, Visits, and Clinical experiences. The course contents have been developed as per U.P. State Medical Faculty Syllabus & guidelines.
